The quality of your vacation is heavily dependent on where you stay. I am sure you can look back and remember the worst place you've ever stayed, usually you look back on those places and laugh. The best place you've ever stayed, makes you want to go back. Here's just a few great places to rest your head in the Gettysburg Area
Bed and Breakfast
Our first option is the classic bed and breakfast, this option is probably my favorite for Gettysburg. Bed and Breakfasts offer you a more personal approach with a small number of rooms and knowledgeable staff. Especially the Baladerry, a larger bed and breakfast. The oldest building on the property was built in 1812 and the home on the property was used as a hospital during the battle of Gettysburg. The rooms are a little more expensive than the average hotel in the area but offer a much greater history.
Splurge
The James’ Getty Hotel is one of the most expensive in Gettysburg, but for good reason. This hotel is less than a block away from the downtown area filled with shops and restaurants. The building has been around since before the civil war and offers it's patrons an opportunity to step back in time. Each suite comes with a historic description allowing you to step back in time. Though the building may be old, the amenities are up to date offering the same accommodations you would find in a contemporary hotel.
Budget
Days Inn Gettysburg may not have the most beautiful accommodations but for $46 a night through Trivago you can’t complain. The reviews on Trivago’s website comment that this hotel is clean and in a great location making this hotel a great option for families coming with their children.
If traditional accommodations aren’t for you, AirBnB has some really unique options, such as guesthouses, shared spaces and single rooms available. We hope where ever you stay you truly enjoy your time in Gettysburg.
